While I had the time available to do so, I wanted to wish current and future visitors a very Healthy and Happy Thanksgiving weekend. As you mostly nestle in with your families, surely you're eagerly awaiting Steam's one of a kind black friday sale, as well as many other platforms and retailers out there (I know I am!). I'm currently over 1,000 miles away from home, so I won't be posting as much for a while. I continue to monitor everything in the background, and also released a plethora of temporary Left 4 Dead 2 servers in multiple locations to handle any overages that might be experienced during the days ahead and the holiday weekend. I know some folks and youngin's are out of school for recess during this week, while others are not?! (I'm sorry to hear that) but rest assured, there is a stable place for you to play online here
During the weekend sales after Thanksgiving, I plan to reorganize the servers, mainly the locations of them as well as size. I've been running test servers in Chicago, Dallas and Denver to see what type of and how much population they attract, with Chicago coming out on top (ironically), so I intend to look into a more permanent and stable situation there. Also in the works is a branch out of South American servers. Bogota Columbia, Buenos Aires Argentina, Guatemala City Guatemala, La Paz Bolivia, Quito Ecuador, and San Jose Costa Rica are all potential locations, with Argentina and at least one more from that list. I will more than likely choose the city with the densest population, beyond the Valve Software offered Peru and Chile locations. I've had servers running in Argentina before, and it required so many resources that we suffered from funding the server as the most expensive machine in the lineup. It was more expensive than all locations combined. This community can not handle that price tag just yet without the proper funding, but I am working on it.
TL;DR, Happy Thanksgiving! I look forward to speaking with you and getting our infrastructure revitalized again as soon as possible
